So received my basic game from the kickstarter (along with the stretch goals) -- but didn't go all in och buy any expansions. I've read the rules and tried the tutorial scenario. I'm hoping this will go down well with the kids, but I can see the lack of different scenarios a bit limiting.
So what would you recommend getting next? Some survivor boosters to get more different characters? Or the Days gone by expansion for some solo rules? I'm a bit frustrated because I can't get a good description anywhere what's in the different expansions.
Also, anyone tried playing a three-way game?

Days gone by includes 5 solo missions and 1 two player. They are all thematic missions where you have a suggested character list and a basic campain style.
Three way does work absolutely fine. There are no rules but all you do in melee is if it's three teams just do individual fights.
I've been developing mission from the video game that my wife and son are playing through as the game really lends itself well to custom scenarios.
I will make a campaign for us to play against each other when wave 2 comes along using the campaign rules from the pdf rulebook with a mixture of solo scavenging and skirmishes as well as chances to recruit survivors.
At present there is only the mission from the main rule book and I hope they introduce some real wargaming scenarios too but at the minute I am loving the narrative and campaign structure and having loads of fun with it.

I also recommend Days Gone By, it's a good expansion and also gives you more characters to play with. If you get that then look at the Andrea, Morgan and Glenn boosters at the very least. Prelude to Woodbury might be worth getting too in order to get some version of the Governor. As for 3 player games, I've had a good few of those and they work well, I've also had a couple of 8 player games and with a few small tweaks to the rules (such as Threat reaching 18 no longer ends the game) which was amazing and incredible fun!

Thanks for the replies. I guess Days Gone By it is then to start with. Did you change anything ruleswise for three-player games?
Oh, and thanks for the tip about the campaign rules in the PDF rulebook -- I had that lying about, but I assumed the printed rulebook had the same contents.

I didn't really change anything to much with the rules for multiplayer games beyond the threat tracker, but some occasional games had custom rules thrown in for certain missions.
