What do people think of this game? Does it mark a larger return for Genestealer Cults? I for one hope so, but what are other peoples' opinions.

I'm sooo getting this. Still got my old cultist hybrids, but the cult needs to grow. I hope they will follow it up with a real codex for 40k.

Same here, I hope we get a new codex, retail range, cult limos, etc. Mmmm, Cult Limos.... I have all of my stuff from thew RT era and I was looking at the new stuff compared to them and they really did stay true to the old line and I am really happy GW did that

Deathwatch Overkill arrived this mornaing and looking over the minis they do look pretty nice, however in true GW fashion they have put some of the vents in the most ridiculous of places. Good thing I am used to getting at awkward to reach vents, but people starting out in the hobby may struggle a fair bit with them. The Stealer Cult minis loo absolutely amazing though and the Stealers themselves are back to something more akin to the original look from the 1980s and I am very happy to see that since I detested the redesign that came out with 4th edition. Also, 50 minis in a game of this price is damn good when they are hard poly-based plastic and not bendy PVC. The minis are easily the selling point of this game and I have already been on Ebay to order more Purestrains, Familiars and Acolytes. My Stealer Cult (Shadows of Arginate) shall rise again!
The board sections are cool with some lovely art, but the high gloss is a little bad with all the light that reflects off them so just as well they are embossed. anice designs on each side and really thick card.
The cards... err... they're cards, but the look nice enough and nice quality to them.
Range ruler things. This reminds me of the range ruler from Blood Bowl and I welcome it, much nicer that a whippy stick.
Dice, 6 of them, black, no frills. For the price of the game some special dice with a custom icon for the 1 or 6 would have been much better.
Rulebook. Simple rules, good amount of missions (9 in total) and pretty nice fluff. I do wish they had sepatated the fluff to the start of the book, then the rules, then Éavy Metal gallery, then missions. The constant chopping and changing between the rules and fluff is annoying. Dear GW, get people with better design skills, this stuff is basic designing at best! The book is really nice quality with heavy duty paper and should endure the test of time, the reference at the back is a good boost too.
Instructions leaflet. Good, clear, concise. Up to the standard we expect from the company.
On the whole the game is extremely good quality at a glance, though I would have preferred a duller finish to the boards themselves. Everything is at a quality that should last the rigors of gaming and the minis go together easily and look very enjoyable to paint. My only real complaints are the placement of some vents on the sprues and the shape of the box, in this day and age GW should be producing games in square boxes like we get with Descent, Zombicide, Blood Rage and the rest, not flat coffin boxes, time to get with the times guys! Not played the game and won't be able to due to poor health, but I got this to start up a new stealer cult (my old one is 27 years old this Summer!).
Overall Rating: 8 out of 10 marks off for box, glossiness, vent placement and some really static poses).

Okay, so I have now assembled all but 7 of the minis and I am upping my rating of the minis from a 7 to a 8. However I have 7 minis to assemble because GW gave a insufficient number of bases with the game! Can't people count in their factory? Missing 7 25mm bases is surely quite noticeable when counting them ready to be bagged. Sadly GW will not send the bases out (already called them) without me returning the game which I cannot do since I have begun assembling pieces. Well done GW, major let down in your CS yet again proving you have the worst in the industry. I am sure they could send out bases if they tried, it's not like I am missing a sprue (though 1 time I did have to return about 9 Land Raiders that were all missing weapon sprues (1 after another, I did not buy 9 at once) and in the end I asked for a refund since it was getting on my nerves, grr).
Note to all, count the number of bases supplied first in case you are short any!
