What is the scale of scenery for TWD? 1:60 or 1:72? Closer to 1:56 than 1:60 but you should bear on mind that terrain in miniatures games tend to be representayional rather than exact otherwise model trees should be over 3 feet tall

Any scenery around 1:50 or 1:48 would fit best, look for things suitable for 28mm to 32mm and will will have pretty much a perfect fit. In the UK companies like TT Combat and Sarissa produce perfect terrain for the game (TT Combat is 28v35mm scale as it also fits thew Batman minis game).

So the Mantic miniatures are 30mm how much of a difference will it be if I get some 28mm minis and create custom zombies. I have not much experinece in the miniature departement. So just curious.

28mm will be fine, the difference will be small and not really noticeable on the table. Many 28mm these days are slightly taller and if you look at a number of 28mm ranges they can vary wildly. Hasslefree Miniatures for instance have some 28mm that are closer to 25mm and other more like 32mm because of how tall the sculptor made the characters to be to represent taller and shorter people, also having some minis taller than others makes it more realistice since not everyone is 6' tall lol.
